Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers or force majeure events.
5. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period)
Pursuant to EU Consumer Rights Directives and Italian Legislative Decree No. 21/2014, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract without giving any reason within 14 calendar days from the day you (or a designated third party, other than the carrier) receive the books.
To exercise this right, you must notify us via email at support@petitsujet.com stating your order number and intention to return the product. Alternatively, you may use the standard withdrawal form available here.
You must return the books in their original condition to:
Petit Sujet, Via Marcello II 22, 00165 Rome, Italy, without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from notifying us.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the goods are defective or damaged. Upon receipt and inspection of the returned goods, we will issue a full refund of the original purchase amount (including standard delivery costs) using the same payment method used for the order, within 14 days from the date we receive the return or proof of shipment.
Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized (e.g., dedicated inscriptions, custom covers), or to sealed audio/video recordings or software opened by the customer.
6. Legal Guarantee of Conformity and Damaged Goods
All books supplied are covered by the statutory legal guarantee of conformity under Articles 128–135 of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005). The guarantee lasts for 2 years from delivery and covers any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery.
If you receive a defective or damaged book (e.g., severe transit damage, missing pages, printing errors), please notify us within 8 days of delivery by emailing support@petitsujet.com with photos of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or repair at no extra cost to you. If repair/replacement is not possible, you may request a price reduction or contract termination.
Please note: the legal guarantee is distinct from the right of withdrawal and applies regardless of fault. You must always contact the seller (Petit Sujet), not the carrier.

We collect and process personal data (name, address, email, payment details) solely for the purposes of order processing, shipping, invoicing, and customer support. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared with logistics partners and payment processors strictly necessary for order fulfillment.
For full details on data processing, your rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection), retention periods, and contact information for the Data Controller, please refer to our Privacy Policy available here.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law. For any disputes arising from B2C purchases made by consumers residing in the European Union, the court of jurisdiction shall be the place of residence or domicile of the consumer, as required by EU consumer protection rules.
Pursuant to Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, the Customer declares to have read carefully and specifically approves the following clauses:
- Clause 8 (Applicable Law and Jurisdiction)
- Clause 5 (Right of Withdrawal – return costs and exceptions)
